The festive season is normally a time when more blood is needed – it is not known as the silly season for nothing.
To donate blood takes only 30 minutes. Your unit of blood can mean the difference between life and death not only to a stranger, but perhaps to someone you know.
Life is unpredictable, therefore the South African National Blood Services asks all healthy people, who weigh 50kg or more, are between the age of 16 and 65 and who lead a sexually safe lifestyle, to please donate blood.
