Earlier today the Arrive Alive Website received the following request for information:
Question: I am 25 years old and been driving for 7 years now, however due to soaring fuel prices I am considering buying a scooter and believe I need a motorbike learners or motorbike license. Please can you tell me how I go about getting this license?
Correct response provided: Both the learner’s licence and motorcycle driving licence tests must be passed.
• Study for the learner’s licence test – covering light motor vehicles and motorcycles
• Make an appointment for the learner’s licence test for motorcycles.
• Practice riding the motorcycle. (It is not permissible or required to have an instructor on the M/C with the learner rider.)
• Make an appointment for the practical driving test for motorcycles, and take the test.
