What is happening during Transport Month in South Africa?

October 9, 2008

The 2008 Transport Month Campaign aims to take a close look at the Department of Transport’s progress and readiness to host the best 2010 FIFA World Cup™ ever. The theme for 2008 is: “Transport infrastructure – Creating a lasting legacy 2010 and beyond.”

During the Campaign, Transport Minister Jeff Radebe, Director- General, Ms Mpumi Mpofu, Provincial MECs and CEOs of transport entities will be showcasing the progress and developments made in their respective areas of responsibility.

The Honourable Minister of Transport, Mr Jeff Radebe MP, has presented the events calendar for Transport Month 2008 – and trusts that all South African citizens will participate in celebrating the Transport achievements thus far.

The Arrive Alive Road Safety Website has made available the “Events Calendar” on the website, and will also give exposure to these events within the website calendar. The Road Safety and Arrive Alive Blog will provide updates on these activities during the Month of October.
