The Arrive Alive website received an enquiry from a visitor from the Netherland:

“ I’ll be traveling in R.S.A. next month: do I need an international drivers licence or will my Dutch licence do?”

This was referred to our friends at eNaTIS and a response received:

“ Your Dutch licence will be acceptable as long as:

• it is in English or has an official translation,
• it has not expired, and
• has a photo of the holder on the licence
Regards”

We advise all foreign visitors to visit the Arrive Alive website for info on “Road Safety for foreign visitors driving in South Africa”
