Yesterday at around mid day two children aged 4 and 13 were hit by a taxi in the Mpumalanga area and then rushed to a nearby clinic in a critical condition. Netcare 911 was called to assist and a paramedic car and a helicopter was dispatched to the clinic. When they arrived the 4 year old has died due to the severity of his injuries and the 13 year old girl was in a critical condition.
The paramedics and the trauma team from the helicopter worked frantically to stabilise the child and after placing her on a ventilator she was airlifted to the St Augustine’s hospital for further treatment.
Last night she was taken to theatre for emergency surgery and she remains in a serious condition.
