In true South African fashion the National Traffic Information System (eNaTIS) continues performing like Formula 1 supremo Jody Scheckter in his heyday: during October 2009 the system processed an astonishing 16 708 459 transactions.
October 2009’s performance represents the highest number of transactions for a single month since the eNaTIS was launched in April 2007. This milestone confirms beyond a doubt that the system is (and has been) more than adequately able to deal with the administration of our fair country’s ever-increasing driver and vehicle population: the eNaTIS met the massive demand without breaking a sweat, so to speak, and 96.5% of all transactions were processed in less than two seconds.
As has been the case since launch, excellent stability and uptime were maintained.
A more detailed report on transaction statistics for October 2009, including trends in new and used vehicle registrations, is available at http://www.enatis.com/Latest/eNaTIS-approaches-17-million-mark.html .
The latest statistics regarding South Africa’s live vehicle population and new & used vehicle registrations are also available on the eNaTIS public information site (www.enatis.com ), as are a wide range of downloadable forms, service centre contact information and how-to guides.
