35 Injured in 2 taxi accidents within 50km in Free State

A total of 35 people sustained various injuries in 2 separate taxi accidents 50km apart in the Free State.
The first collision occurred in Lintel at a intersection when a minibus taxi collided with a SUV. A total of 15 people sustained various injuries including various scrapes and bruises as well as broken bones.
Paramedics treated all the injured patients before transporting them to a nearby medical facility. Shortly after 12:00, before reaching the hospital, the paramedics received word of a second taxi accident a few kilometres outside Senekal.
A minibus taxi had collided with a car before leaving the road and overturning in the field. Various Emergency Medical Services attended the incident. A total of 20 people sustained various injuries ranging from suspected back and neck injuries to scrapes and bruises.
Law enforcement officials attended both collisions and will be investigating the incidents.
