Patient dies from his injuries after rolling his car

[Durban 19 February 2012 17:00]
A 35 year old man has not survived his injuries after he rolled his car on the N3 North just after the Camperdown off ramp.
The vehicle rolled up the embankment and then back down to land on its roof next to the road. The man was ejected and found lying on the grass. Paramedics immediately initiated life saving treatment as he had sustained extremely critical injuries. They placed him on external breathing equipment and attempted to stabilise his condition while they took him by ambulance to Hillcrest Hospital.
Despite everything that paramedics tried to do for the man, his condition deteriorated and en route to hospital they had to start CPR. A while later the man succumbed to his injuries and nothing more could be done to save his life. The man was declared dead shortly after they arrived at Hospital.
There had been no other vehicles involved in the accident and the cause of the man losing control of the vehicle will need to be investigated by the police who attended the scene.
