Teenagers Injured In Crash between Tongaat and Wartburg
[Pietermaritzburg - 21 February 2012 at 09h00]
A white Toyota condor travelling on the R614 between Tongaat and Wartburg lost control allegedly on a bend and rolled. Six school children in their late teens were injured.
ER24 paramedics from Pietermaritzburg responded to the scene and found the condor lying on its side with the occupants seated on the floor. Paramedics assessed the patients and found that two of the teens were complaining of pains to their neck region. They were placed on specialised boards to help prevent any further injury to their neck and backs. The remaining four scholars suffered minor cuts and bruises. They were stabilised on scene and transported to various hospitals in Pietermaritzburg for further medical care.
The necessary authorities will investigate the accident further.
