Durban truck accident on Thursday leaves driver dead

A man was tragically killed after a truck left the M19 in Durban and plunged down a thirty meter embankment this afternoon. Indications from the scene is that the driver of the truck lost control while riding on the East bound lane of the M13 near Blair Athol Road at around 12h00.

Netcare 911 , provincial paramedics and firemen arrived at the scene and found the driver to be trapped under the crumpled remains of the truck, tragically he had died on impact due to the extensive injury that he sustained.

The rescue officer from Netcare 911 and firemen worked for more than three hours using Hydraulic rescue gear to free the man from the wreckage before the truck and load of animal food could be recovered.
