Six people were injured ,one critically so, in a side impact accident on the R34 in Richards Bay late last night. Reports from the scene indicate that the vehicles collided at around 21h30 at the Foskor intersection.
Netcare 911 paramedics and the fire department arrived at the scene and found two people still trapped in a vehicle that came to rest on its roof. While firemen used the Jaws of Life to free the injured, medics clambered into the wreckage to stabilize them.
After the injured were extricated and stabilized on scene they were transported to various hospitals in the area for the care that they required.
