Umhlanga accident leaves female critically injured

A female was critically injured in a side-impact accident on the Millennium Bridge in Umhlanga this afternoon. Exact detail to the cause of the accident is still speculative and will remain a subject for police investigation and comment.

Netcare 911 paramedics arrived at the scene and found the injured female trapped in the crumpled remains of her vehicle. While firemen used the Jaws of Life to free the injured female, medics clambered into the wreckage to stabilize the patient.

After the patient was skillfully immobilized she was removed from the vehicle and then transported to a local hospital for the care that she required.
