At 10h57 Netcare 911 received a call for a taxi that had rolled on the N14, Erasmia, Centurion. Advance life support units and ambulances arrived at the scene and found that the vehicle had rolled on the Pretoria bound lane, the crumpled remains of the taxi coming to rest on the centre island.
Medics found the driver on the grass near the vehicle, tragically he had died before our arrival. Three people were found to have sustained critical injuries, three were seriously injured and two escaped with minor injuries.
The Netcare one Air Ambulance with a trauma team was activated to assist ground crews in stabilizing a critically injured female. After the injured were treated on scene the female was airlifted to the Steve Biko hospital for specialized care. The remainder of the patients were transported to various hospitals in the area for the care that they required.
