South Coast accident leaves four dead

Four people have died and eleven others were critically injured in a roll -over accident on the R61 near St Michaels this evening. Reports indicate that the bakkie with fifteen people was traveling along the R61 towards Margate at around20h19 when the driver lost control and overturned.

Netcare 911 paramedics, Port Shepstone S A P search and rescue, and the emergency services arrived at the scene and found that the crumpled remains of the vehicle came to rest about two hundred meters down the road after ejecting the passengers along the way.

After the injured were stabilized on scene they were transported to the provincial hospital in Port Shepstone for the care that they required.
