Durban accident leaves fifteen injured

Netcare 911 and other services responded to an accident scene on the R102 at the intersection of Stonebridge Drive and North Coast Road in Durban, KZN this afternoon.

Upon their arrival they found that a minibus taxi had collided with two other vehicles resulting in fifteen people being injured. Of the fifteen injured people, eleven were school children aged between six and twelve years old. The driver of one of the vehicles was entrapped in his vehicle and the Jaws of Life had to be used to free him out of the vehicle.

Ten people sustained moderate injuries and five sustained serious injuries.

After all the injured were treated and stabilised on scene, they were transported to various hospitals in the area for further medical treatment.

Exact details to the cause of the accident will remain the subject of a police investigation.
