Fourteen injured in Salt River taxi collision


Fourteen people sustained moderate injuries when the taxi they were traveling in collided into the back of a truck on Voortrekker road in Salt River, Cape Town.

Paramedics that arrived on the scene found several occupants with injuries ranging from scrapes and bruises. The driver of the taxi sustained a serious leg fracture and was stabilised on the scene before he could be transported through to hospital.

All of the occupants were transported to Groote Schuur and Somerset Hospitals respectively.

The exact cause of the incident is not yet known.
