Man critical following collision at the Albert Falls Dam turn off

A man is in a critical condition following a collision between a taxi and a light motor vehicle on the R33, Greytown, at the Albert Falls Dam turn off earliertoday.

It is understood that the taxi and the light motor vehicle were in a head on collision.

When ER24 paramedics, as well as other services, arrived on scene, they found the light delivery vehicle in a ditch on the side of the road. The taxi that had rolled was lying on its roof.

The patients had apparently exited the vehicles themselves. They were found sitting and lying on the side of the road.

One patient sustained critical injuries. The drivers of both vehicles and two other patients sustained moderate injuries.

12 patients sustained minor injuries. All patients were treated on scene and transported to local hospitals.

Authorities were on scene.
