Fifteen people were injured, six seriously so, after a taxi left the highway and plunged down a steep embankment. Exact detail to the cause of the accident is still speculative and will remain a subject for police investigation and comment.
Netcare 911 paramedics and other services arrived at the scene and found the remains of the taxi and its injured commuters at the bottom of an embankment. After triaging the injured they found that six people sustained serious injuries while nine miraculously escaped with minor injuries.
After paramedics stabilised the wounded at the scene they transported them to various hospitals for the care that they required.
