Taxi crash leaves 15 injured on Sunderland Road in Cato Manor

Fifteen people have been injured after the taxi they were in crashed through a fence before overturning on Sunderland Road Cato Manor just after 9am this morning.

Rescue Care and Meditech paramedics arrived on the scene to find that the taxi had lost control and collided with a fence before overturning coming to rest on its side. Passengers were found on the roadside as well as down the bank. A quick assessment revealed that five people had sustained serious injuries whilst ten others had sustained minor to moderate injuries. More ambulances were called and once all of the injured were stabilized they were transported to various Durban Hospitals for the further care that they required.

At this stage it is unclear what caused the collision however SAPS were on scene and will be investigating further.
