Johannesburg Ophirton intersection collision leaves seven injured

Seven people were injured following an accident at the intersection of Earp Street and Caithness Street in Ophirton, Johannesburg this morning.

Netcare 911 paramedics and other services arrived at the scene and found that a minibus and motor vehicle were involved in a side impact crash.

Exact detail surrounding the cause of the crash and preceding events are unknown and will remain the subject of a police investigation.

Upon assessment of all the occupants from both vehicles, paramedics found that one person sustained serious injuries while six people sustained minor to moderate injuries. The injured patients were treated at the scene and transported to hospital for further medical care.

Traffic was affected as a result of the accident.
