Taxi rolls down embankment injuring 15 in Khayelitsha

15 people were injured this morning after a taxi rolled down an embankment on Baden Powell Road in Khayelitscha in the Western Cape.

ER24 paramedics, along with Metro services, arrived on the scene and found the taxi upright lying on the side of the road. Occupants from the taxi were frond walking around the scene.

On assessment, paramedics found that 15 people has sustained injuries ranging from minor to moderate. Fortunately no-one had sustained any serious injuries.

Paramedics treated the patients for their injuries and thereafter transported them to various hospitals for further observations.

It is understood that the taxi had rolled from Baden Powell Road, down the embankment onto the N2.

Local authorities were on scene for further investigations.
