Four people were injured following an accident at the intersection of Cowles Street and Connaught Avenue in Rowhill, Springs earlier on today.
Netcare 911 paramedics and other services arrived at the scene and found that two vehicles were involved in the accident. Reports from the scene indicate that both vehicles swerved to avoid a side impact crash resulting in one vehicle leaving the roadway and crashing against a tree. While the other vehicle left the roadway and came to a standstill in a ditch next to the roadway.
Upon assessment of all the occupants, paramedics found that four people sustained injuries ranging from moderate to serious during the accident.
All four injured patients were treated at the scene and transported to hospital for further medical care.
Exact detail surrounding the cause of the accident and preceding events will remain the subject of a police investigation.
Traffic was slightly affected as a result of the accident but local authorities were at the scene to assist with traffic control.
