Five people were injured following an accident on Amanda Road near Louis Street in Gleneagles this morning.
Netcare 911 paramedics and other services arrived at the scene and found that a minibus that came to a standstill against the pavement of the road. Reports from the scene indicate that the minibus knocked over a pedestrian and proceeded to drive over a traffic circle and then came to a standstill against a curb at the side of the road.
Upon assessment of the pedestrian and occupants from the minibus, paramedics found that one person sustained serious injuries while five others sustained minor to moderate injuries.
The injured patients were treated at the scene and transported to various hospitals for further medical care.
Exact detail surrounding the cause of the accident and preceding events will remain the subject of a police investigation.
