Two people died following a collision between two bakkies on the R26 about 15km from Reitz, direction Tweeling, in the Free State, last night.
When ER24 paramedics and other services arrived on scene they found that one person was entrapped in one of the vehicles and another was ejected.
Paramedics assessed the person who was ejected and found that he sustained fatal injuries. He was declared dead.
The woman was extricated from the vehicle with the Jaws of Life. She was assessed and found to have sustained serious injuries.
She as well as two other patients, who sustained moderate injuries, were treated and transported to hospital.
Sadly the woman succumbed to her injuries at the hospital.
The exact cause of the collision is unknown however authorities were on scene for further investigations.
