ER24 paramedics attended to three seperate motor vehicle collisions in the Johannesburg West area last night. These collisions all occurred within minutes of one another and left a total of seven people injured.
The first incident occurred on the corners of Main Reef Road and Corlette Drive and involved a taxi and a light motor vehicle. ER24 treated and transported one critically injured patient to Leratong Hospital for further treatment.
This was followed by collision on Malibongwe Drive on the bridge over the N1 and it involved a taxi and two light motor vehicles. When ER24 paramedics arrived on scene they found that four people were left with minor injuries. ER24 treated and transported two patients to Helen Joseph Hospital for further treatment. The remaining patients were treated and transported by other medical services on scene.
The last collision also occurred on Malibongwe Drive and involved only one vehicle – a bakkie. The driver allegedly lost control of the vehicle causing it to roll. The incident left two people with minor to moderate injuries. ER24 paramedics treated and transported one patient to hospital for further treatment. The other patient was treated and transported by other medical services on scene.
The cause of all the above mentioned incidents are unknown and subject to further investigation.
