Lightning strikes in KZN claims a life and leave several injured

KZN EMS AmbulanceFollowing this weekend’s tragic case in Harding where three people were stuck by lighting, there have sadly been another two separate incidents, which have occurred in the Ilembe district of KZN.

Last night at around 19h30 paramedics from the Department of Health’s Emergency Medical Services responded to a house in the Ndwedwe area, near the Mzokholayo School. At this scene, sadly a 28 year old woman had sustained fatal injuries after lightning reported stuck the house she was in. Another person in the house was seriously injured and treated by KZN EMS paramedics.

In a separate incident near the Wosiyane court, also in the Ndwedwe area, three people were seriously injured after their house was stuck by lightning. These patients had all sustained serious injuries, but were taken to hospital in a stable condition.

As KZN EMS, we would like to send our most sincere condolences to the victim’s family and friends.
