One man and nine children were injured this morning after a taxi crashed into a concrete pillar on Verdooring Road in Middelburg, Mpumalanga.
ER24 paramedics and provincial services arrived on scene to find the taxi wedged up against a concrete pillar. Occupants from the taxi were found seated outside the vehicle.
On assessment, paramedics found nine children, aged between 4 and 6, had sustained only minor injuries in the collision. The driver of the taxi was found to have sustained minor injuries also.
Paramedics treated the patients and thereafter transported them to nearby hospitals for further treatment.
It is believed that the driver lost control of the taxi, causing it to crash into the pillar.
Local authorities were on scene to investigate further.
