Three pedestrians were killed in an incident on Freedom Way in Joe Slovo, Cape Town, late last night.
It is understood that a taxi driver collided with three people as well as another taxi and a vehicle, both stationary.
ER24 paramedics and other services arrived on scene and found one person impaled in a taxi windscreen and two people lying on the sidewalk.
Upon assessment of the people it was found that they sustained multiple severe injuries. Sadly, there was nothing that could be done for them. They were declared dead.
The driver of the stationary taxi was assessed and found to have sustained minor injuries. He was treated and transported to hospital for further medical care.
The exact cause of the incident is unknown.
Authorities were on scene for further investigations.
