Successful Resuscitation of pedestrian on M19


Crisis Medical Paramedics responded to a Pedestrian vehicle collision on the M19 freeway under the N2 , shortly after 12:30 this afternoon.

On arrival paramedics found that a light motor vehicle had collided with a pedestrian at high speed. The driver of the vehicle sustained mild soft tissue injuries and was transported to hospital for further care.

The pedestrian sustained severe injuries, including that of traumatic brain injury and was without a pulse, requiring the specialised care of Crisis Medical Advanced Life Support paramedics. On their arrival, paramedics proceeded with CPR for approximately 15minutes and successfully resuscitated the patient. Once stabilised and placed on a specialised ventilator, the patient was transported to hospital for further care.

All necessary authorities were in attendance and will be investigating the incident further.
