A 35-year-old man was left seriously injured this morning after his motorcycle collided with a light truck at the corners of Helen Suzman and Buitengracht in Cape Town CBD.
ER24 paramedics, along with Community Medics and Metro services, arrived on the scene and found the biker lying in the middle of the intersection. A fellow biker had removed the patients helmet and had begun providing the patient with first aid.
Paramedics immediately took over and assessed the patient. It was found that the patient had sustained serious injuries to his chest as well as to one of his arms.
Paramedics treated and stabilised the patient before he was transported to a private hospital for urgent treatment.
The driver of the truck fortunately escaped without injury.
Local authorities were on scene for further investigations.
