Man’s foot amputated in motorbike collision

 

A man believed to be in his twenties was left with critical injuries after a collision between a light motor vehicle and a motorbike occurred earlier this evening. The collision occurred on the corner of Spaangemacht Road and Ladies Mile Street in Constantia, Cape Town.

When ER24 paramedics arrived on scene they found that the man that the driver the motorbike had sustained a partial amputation to his foot. He was provided with advanced life support interventions and transported to Grootte Schuur Hospital for urgent treatment. The driver of the light motor vehicle did not sustain any injuries.

The collision occurred during peak hour traffic and traffic was heavily affected, however the scene has been cleared since. The cause of the incident remains unknown, local authorities were on scene for further investigation.
