16 People were left injured this morning after a taxi and two light motor vehicles collided on the R34 in Pinetown, KwaZulu Natal.
ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene at 07H37 and found the road completely blocked by heavy traffic congestion.
One light motor vehicle was found in the middle of the road while the second vehicle and taxi were found further up on the side of the road.
On inspection, paramedics found that 16 people, including two girls aged 7 and 11, had been injured in the collision. Assessments showed that the injuries sustained ranged from minor to moderate.
Paramedics treated the patients for their injuries and thereafter transported them to Westville and RK Khan Hospital for further treatment.
Traffic was heavily affected in the area for some time due to the collision.
Local authorities were on the scene to investigate the cause of the collision.
