Two taxis collide head-on leaving 15 injured, Pietermaritzburg.

15 People have been injured this afternoon, including 10 children, after two taxis collided head-on on the Church Street Bridge in Pietermaritzburg.

ER24 paramedics arrived on scene and found one taxi on the side of the pavement while the second was found in the middle of the lane.

On inspection, paramedics found 10 children, aged between 7 and 10, seated on the grassy embankment while five adults were found walking around on the scene.

Paramedics assessed all the patients and found that all 15 people had sustained injuries ranging from minor to moderate. Fortunately, no serious or fatal injuries were reported on the scene.

The patients were treated for their injuries and thereafter transported to various hospitals in the area for further treatment.

The details surrounding this incident are not yet known but local authorities were on scene for further investigations.
