On Tuesday evening, Netcare 911 paramedics responded to a collision on the R61 at leisure Bay on the Natal South Coast. Reports from the scene indicate that two vehicles collided, exact detail to the cause of the crash and preceding events however will form part of the Police investigation.
Paramedics arrived at the scene and found that a fifty-four-year-old man that had been ejected from his vehicle on impact, lying on the ground with life -threatening injuries, the driver of the other vehicle could not be found on scene. Paramedics worked fervently at the scene to stabilise the patient before they transported him to a Port Shepstone hospital for the care that he required.
Tragically, soon after the man arrived at the hospital he went into cardiac arrest. Despite all the efforts from the medical staff trying to resuscitate the critically wounded man, he was declared dead due to the extensive injuries that he sustained.
