Yesterday afternoon just after 6pm EMER-G-MED’s RV4, RV5 and A10 responded to reports of a serious collision on the N3 North close to the Barry Marais offramp, Vosloorus.
On arrival paramedics found that a truck had collided with the back of a car, the truck then lost control and veered onto the southbound carriageway – luckily managing to avoid oncoming traffic.
A total of five patients from the car miraculously escaped with minor to moderate injuries. Two of the five were entrapped within the wreckage. The fire department used the “jaws of life” to cut the passengers free.
The patients were transported by EMER-G-MED and other services to various nearby hospitals for further management.
Local traffic authorities were on the scene to investigate.
