Sixteen people including an 18-month old baby have sustained serious to moderate injuries after a taxi overturned on the R54 Villiers road approximately 20 kilometres from Three Rivers.
When paramedics arrived on scene they found that the taxi had overturned multiple times and several people had been ejected out of the vehicle.
Thirteen people were found to have sustained minor injuries while one person sustained moderate injuries.
One adult and an 18-month-old-baby were found to be in a critical condition.
The 18month was intubated on scene before being transported to a nearby hospital.
The rest of the injured were also transported to various hospitals in the area for further medical care.
