Thirteen injured in Cato Ridge taxi collision

Thirteen people were injured this morning when the taxi they were traveling in overturned on the N3 north near Cato Ridge.

Shortly after 7am paramedics from ER24 and other services arrived on the scene where they found the taxi several meters down a small embankment. Thirteen people, all adults, were found with various minor to moderate injuries. They were all treated on the scene and later transported to RK Khan Hospital for further treatment.

Paramedics found all the occupants seated near the wreckage. None of them were ejected and it is believed that they all climbed out of the vehicle shortly after the rollover.

The exact circumstances of the incident are not yet known. However, it is believed that a vehicle apparently lost control in front of the taxi. Occupants explained to paramedics that the driver of the taxi tried to avoid the vehicle and overturned.
