Eight people were left injured this afternoon when a light motor vehicle rear-ended a taxi on the N3 near the M7 in Pinetown, KwaZulu-Natal.
When ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene, they found the light motor vehicle against the roadside barriers, facing the oncoming traffic. A taxi was found parked 50 metres away.
Several passengers were found either walking around or seated inside the taxi.
Paramedics assessed a total of 15 patients and found that only eight had sustained minor to moderate injuries. The remaining passengers escaped injury.
The patients were treated for their injuries and were thereafter transported by ER24 to RK Khan Hospital for further treatment.
The details surrounding this incident are not yet known but local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
