Seven injured when taxi and bakkie collide in Scottsville, Pietermaritzburg

Seven people were left injured this afternoon when a taxi and bakkie collided on Boshoff Road in Scottsville, Pietermaritzburg.

ER24 paramedics, along with other services, arrived on the scene at approximately 16h15.

Upon inspection, paramedics found the taxi lying on its side in the middle of the road while the bakkie had come to a stop on the pavement. The occupants from both vehicles were found walking around on the scene.

Paramedics assessed the patients and found that a total of eight had sustained minor to moderate injuries.

The patients were treated for their injuries and were thereafter transported to Northdale Provincial Hospital for further care.

The details surrounding this incident are not yet known but local authorities were on scene for further investigations.
