Aasvoëlkrans driver killed when car slams into truck

A man, believed to be in his 30s, was killed last night when his light motor vehicle crashed into the side of a large truck on the R24 in Aasvoelkrans in the North West Province.

ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene shortly after 20h00 to find both the truck and light motor vehicle on the side of the road. The front of the light motor vehicle was found wedged beneath the rear of the truck.

Upon closer inspection, paramedics found a man lying lifeless and trapped inside the car. Assessments showed that the man had no signs of life.

Unfortunately, nothing could be done for him and he was declared dead.

The driver of the truck, a man, was assessed and found to have sustained only minor injuries. The man was treated but later declined transportation to a hospital.

Local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
