Seven people have been injured one critically so after the truck they were in left the roadway and went down a bank on the N3 Durban bound just after Pavilion offramp on Thursday evening.
Just after 07:20 Rescue Care Paramedics arrived on the scene to find that a single truck had left the N3 and crashed into a small river. A total of seven people had been injured with two people being ejected from the rear of the truck and then pinned under the back wheels. One man was in a critical condition and Recsue Care’s Advanced Life Support Paramedic placed the man on a manual ventilator on the scene whilst Durban Fire Department worked to free the man. Both the men were finally freed from under the vehicle after close to 45 minutes. All seven injured were then transported to various Durban Hospitals for the further care that they required.
At this stage, the exact cause of the single truck to lose control and crash over the barrier is unknown however SAPS were on the scene and will be investigating further.
