Durban housebreaking suspects still at large

At approximately 10:00 on Thursday, Marshall Security was alerted to a housebreaking in progress at a home in Burleigh Crescent, Durban North.

Armed response officers were immediately dispatched and on further investigation, it was ascertained that an unknown number of suspects had derailed the driveway gate, before smashing open the front door and ransacking the home.

At this stage it is uncertain as to exactly what was taken as a full inventory will still need to be conducted by the homeowner, who was at work at the time.

The gardener who was at the premises, noticed the men fleeing in an awaiting getaway vehicle and contacted the authorities.

The scene was secured and handed over to the South African Police Services for further investigation and processing.
