New Audi Sport models join the League of Performance

It all started in the early 1980s with the revolutionary introduction of quattro all-wheel drive, followed by many victories that drove Audi’s four rings over numerous finishing lines in the motorsport world. Thanks to continued dedication to innovation and progression, that success has continued right through to the present day with each of Audi’s motorsport properties yielding impressive results for the brand.

In July 2016, Audi South Africa launched the Audi Sport sub-brand into the market along with the new Audi R8. Audi Sport is reserved for the range of high performance vehicles, motorsport activations as well as the dedicated retail experience within the Audi Dealer network. Characterised by a distinctive red rhombus and the RS badge, Audi Sport is the embodiment of perfectionism, performance and adrenaline-induced goosebumps. It is the symbol that represents Audi’s long history of success in motorsport innovations, fuelled by a passion to never stand still.

Since the launch of the Audi RS 2 Avant, the Audi RS badge has been exclusively reserved for models that combine supercar performance with everyday practicality – born on the track and built for the road.

Audi South Africa is excited to announce new models to the dynamic and exclusive Audi Sport range. This includes the new Audi RS 5 Coupé, Audi TT RS Coupé and Audi RS 3 Sportback. The Audi Sport line up now boasts nine models in total.

“Audi South Africa is proud to introduce these new and exclusive models to bolster the Audi Sport product range in South Africa,” said Trevor Hill, Head of Audi South Africa. “We know that South African consumers have a particular appreciation for high performance vehicles and this is the reason why we have doubled our range of performance models in 2017 alone, with more to come in the next few years. Our new models have not only inherited a very sporty and aggressive new look with the Singleframe grille in a newly designed honeycomb pattern but with the engine improvements, they are lighter, quicker and more efficient than the previous models. While still maintaining the distinctive driving pleasure of quattro permanent all-wheel drive and an unmistakeable engine sound, key innovations of the new models include the Audi virtual cockpit; new lighting technologies and an enhanced premium and sporty interior to the cock-pit. All in an effort to give the driver a pleasurable experience of a high performance sports car and still manintaining everyday practicality,” concluded Hill.
