The efficient utilisation of resources in support of the investigation of crime yielded good results when King Williams Town K9 Unit, Flying Squad, Bhisho and Zwelitsha SAPS members followed up on information they have received about a suspect that had explosives and ammunition at Tyutyu Location, Bhisho.
Within an hour in the early hours today Police went to a house at Tyutyu Location where ammunition and a stun grenade were found and upon arrival, members have found a 21-year-old male. They searched the house and found twenty-six (26) R5 live rounds of ammunition, two stun grenades, one (1) R5 magazine, trade power drill and mini Hi-Fi. Upon investigation police established that the stolen Plasma was sold to another person living in a house around Tyutyu Location and they proceeded to the house and recovered a Plasma television. A 37-year-old male was arrested for possession of stolen property. This sends a strong message that the person who buys stolen goods is as guilty as the criminal who stole the goods. All these items were confiscated by Police.
These suspects are due to appear at Zwelitsha Magistrate Court tomorrow on charges of Possession of Explosives and ammunition and Possession of stolen property.
