DigiCore Holdings, the Johannesburg Stock Exchange listed vehicle telematics company, recently increased its shareholding in the DigiCore Deutshland subsidiary from 50% to 100%. The group has over the last 3 years followed a policy of purchasing 100% shareholding in the offshore entities over a period in order to exploit synergies and align strategies throughout the Group.

Following the conclusion of this transaction It is exciting to announce that after two years of testing C-track in a pilot phase, Detlef Ruthemeyer, technical managing director of the family-owned enterprise Osma-Aufzüge, has decided to fully rely on C-track for his fleet’s needs. In the coming weeks, the technicians’ vehicles and all trucks will be equipped with DigiCore’s fleet management system.

With this decision, Ruthemeyer now trusts the worldwide experience and 23 year proven track record of DigiCore to increase the efficiency of his company’s fleet. C-track is well suited to the philosophy and management principles of the successful Osma Aufzüge, which was named “Osnabrücker Maschinen-und Aufzugsbau” in the beginning of 1919 when the company was started. Based in northern Germany, this family-run business has been managed by Albert Schenk since 1933. Nowadays they have 600 employees and manufacture about 800 elevator systems every year. Certified high quality standards and long-life cycles are vital in their production processes. With this background the manufacturer can provide individual customised solutions, for panoramic, bed or freight elevators.

“It is a great compliment that a 90 year old, well managed and informed company such as Osma Aufzüge has selected C-track from DigiCore Deutschland to further optimise their operations and further increase their customer satisfaction” Commented DigiCore Holdings CEO Nick Vlok

Service is another important business aspect for Osma-Aufzüge. With 16 branches in Germany, their highly skilled engineers are distributed nationwide. These branches provide 24 hours a day trouble-shooting support for 16,000 elevator facilities. To improve emergency-, maintenance-and repair-operation management, C-track will be used to give a real-time overview of every vehicle’s position onto the digital map. Ruthemeyer aims to increase customer satisfaction by reacting faster to callouts. Customer satisfaction and being able to withstand the current economic pressure, are the company’s main driving forces.

“When incoming operation notifications are received, the controller will immediately be able to identify the closest vehicle to the location. The assigned technician can then be informed via cell phone of his next callout”, stated Ruthemeyer as he described the aims and advantages of using C-track to his branch leaders. In conjunction with his DigiCore Deutschland consultant, the technical managing director finalised the planned implementation, workflows and economic potential of Osma Aufzüge’s fleet management with C-track.
